In this article, the authors look at responses from very successful Russian entrepreneurs to understand the leadership styles that have helped them to become successful and to determine whether they had chosen the open style used by U.S. entrepreneurs or had retained the controlling style common to the Soviet-era. The authors explain that they are seeking to determine if there is a convergence of entrepreneurial characteristics that are similar across cultures. The article notes that the authors used a multiple case analysis as their research methodology to determine that most of the Russian entrepreneurs used the open style. INSETS: SIDEBAR 1.
