Impact of Mergers in the Construction Material Industry in India

Canada is known for its immense global presence in the knowledge sector and vast resources in the construction industry. The key areas where India and Canada can join hands and be viable partners by way of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) in the construction industry has been studied in this article. This article aims to identify the success areas that can go a long way in the Indian construction industry, where M&A, considering the financial constraints, is the order of the day. The article is based on selected case studies randomly drawn from the cement industry. A promising sign to be noted, as seen in cement sector, is certain foreign players who are on the path of establishing their share in Indian cement market have already made their mark in Canada and this further strengthens the significance of this study.
