TY - SER AU - Gadekar, Ashutosh Bhagwat TI - Research Review on Employability Skills Training in Higher Education PY - 0000/// CY - PB - KW - Higher Education KW - Employability Skill KW - Education N2 - This Paper surveys the existing research work done on the topic of “Employability Skills Training imparted to the students of Higher Education as a part of their Curriculum” and other related literatures. The Corporate employer today has put the onus of the Development of Employability Skills on the University and its Higher Education Institutions. Unlike olden days, the Companies today do not wish to spend any of their Resources for training of their new employees. Instead, they look for ‘OVEN READY’candidates for employment. The developed countries have taken the remedial steps a decade ago. Whereas, in our country, except for the top ranking Universities and league Institutes, other institutes of higher education especially from tier II and III Cities are yet to include this training in to their curricula. Thus, the lack of employable skills has affected the prospects of securing suitable employment for the students of higher education in these Cities, and very badly so, for the MBApass-outs. “In India we produce 25% of MBAs required for the entire world. But the quality of them is not even suitable for employment within the country” says the Chairman of Maruthi Udyog Ltd, Mr.R.C. Bhargava, who is also Chairman of Board of Governors, IIM Ranchi. He also said, “Our MBA education is not aligned to Industry needs”, (MBAUniverse.comReport, 2012) ER -
